Ducharme seems to be coaching his way into a QMJHL job. Next year needs a completely fresh start

tks Karine, slowly but surely looking like a 'normal' lineup.
as for Caufield, he's lucky to be in MTL. under normal circonstances he would be in Laval.
for the GM, said it many times, it's who you know in this league. Gorton knows Briere and Hughes... make your pick.

Question…

Is Shane Wright a:

a) Pierre Turgeon
b) Vincent Damphouse
c) Saku Koivu
d) Guy Carbonneau

I think we all agree that it is not the next Jean Beliveau…

never saw him play, but from what I've heard, I'd say D.

With all respect I have for Carbo, I don’t think it is a first overall pick…

Habs better take a chance on someone maybe more risky but with more offensive upside…

Or trade that pick if they don’t want to take that risk…

This will be very interesting draft…

This year aside...Wright had been putting up scoring levels of guys like McD, Tavares etc.

Highest PPG ever for an under 17 year old at the U18 WJC ahead of OV, Hughes, Stamkos, Kessel, Gaborik and Malkin.

In his 15 year old season he had a 1.14PPG, McDavid had 1.05.

I think it's a little early to pull the plug on a guy who missed an entire year of hockey and has only been "very good" instead of the expected "generational."

I don't think there's any chance they'd pass on him if they win the lottery. especially with the draft in Mtl.
unless an other team offers the moon and Habs trade down because they think they could get their man at #3 or #4. wouldn't bet a dime on that though.
anyway, chances are Habs will draft 3rd or 4th.

all of these pathetic hard-to-watch performances, one after another, all season long, just to get the 4th pick? damn, that's brutal.

they'll be better in the 2nd half Pat. no pressure, players coming back, new gm... I don't see them finishing dead last. they could even draft 5-10th.
big 4pts game on Monday! need to lose that one.

at this point "players coming back" has basically become the equivalent of believing in Santa lol

and even if some of them do come back, they'll probably just get injured again after playing 1 or 2 games, it's a cursed season. I don't see them significantly improving and actually start winning games either way.

If Gorton(and the to be nominated GM) is smart, he will trade 2-3 guys before the deadline to ensure we end-up in bottom 3…

I don't think it depends on the habs all that much, but rather on other teams being interested or not in trading for these players, despite their horrible play.

but in a way my perspective is more optimistic, because it would mean the habs would have better odds for the draft lottery.

yeah, I don't expect many moves beside Chiarot. that won't make them that much worse.

I support that…

Personally, I think Wright can be a player like Damphouse…. First line Center, solid both offensively and defensively…. It is not a Crosby or a Mc David but I think he can be a guy you can build around…. Wright and Suzuki as our top 2 Centers is something I am very good with…

well you can't really make them worse than they already are, trading Chiarot and/or other players would only ensure they continue losing.

oh I don't think they'll win 10 in a row, but I think they could catch ARZ, OTT, BUF and SEA.
